The official version of Mono Solutions ApS (Mono, Mono.net) Privacy is the Danish version (“Fortrolighedspolitik”). This is a translation for convenience purposes. Mono takes no responsibility for any errors or omissions in this translation. Mono also gives no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness or reliability of the translation. In case of conflict or discrepancy between this translation and the Danish version, the Danish version always has priority and shall prevail.

1. Introduction

This privacy policy addresses how Mono Solutions ApS (“mono.net” or “Mono”) uses and protects the information that you provide to mono.net, when you use www.mono.net and any related websites managed by, or on behalf of mono.net.

We at mono.net take your privacy seriously, and we remain committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Any personally identifiable information you provide to mono.net will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

The latest version of mono.net’s privacy policy is always available on this page. We encourage you to continuously check this page in order to ensure that you are up-to-date with the policy.

2. Acceptance

By using or accessing mono.net, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2a. Notice to visitors from outside of the European Union
Be aware that the European Union (EU) and other countries may differ in their privacy regulations. Because mono.net and its servers are located within the EU, mono.net has written its Privacy Policy to comply with EU regulations. By using mono.net, you agree to the level of privacy protection set out in our Privacy Policy.

 

3. Data that Mono.net collects

 

3.a Data collected upon signing up for free trial

The first time you sign up at mono.net for a free trial subscription, we ask you for the following information:

  • A site username

  • A valid email address

  • A password

This information will be used in order to create your account with Mono, and will provide you with a trial subscription of 14 days for a website. Your subscription will be connected to the given username in order for us to easily identify your site in our system. Upon signup, you will receive a welcoming email, a guide on how to get started, as well as information on how to administer your account going forward.


 

3.b data collected upon upgrading to a paid subscription

Should you wish to upgrade your free trial subscription to any paid subscription, we will require the following additional information:

  • Your full name

  • Company name

  • VAT number (when relevant)

  • Your address

  • Payment card details

This information will be used for tracking payments for your subscriptions with Mono. Your private payment card details are not stored in our database. Our payment gateway partners (Teller and Quickpay) will, however, store the information required for your automatic billing (as per mono.net’s Terms & Conditions) on their secure servers.  

mono.net may retain the credit card type and the last 4 digits of your credit card number in order to help you identify the card used in the future.

 

Upon cancellation of your paid subscriptions with mono.net, none of your payment card details will be stored in our systems, nor will they be stored with our payment gateway partners (Teller and Quickpay). Information regarding previous subscriptions, as well as contact information will, however, still be available in our database after cancellation. Should you wish for mono.net to delete your account, your subscription history, your domains, your emails, your contact information, as well as your personal information (e.g. name, address), all you have to do is contact Mono Support at support@mono.net. For more information, see mono.net Terms & Conditions section 8.b.

 

3.c Data collected through contact forms

Upon filling out a contact form on mono.net, we will ask you for your personal information as well as your contact information. This is necessary in order for us to locate your account within our systems, and so that we may contact you with replies to your enquiries. Filling out a contact form will not automatically store your private information in our system – nor will it establish you as a customer, unless specifically requested by you. Furthermore, after an enquiry has been replied to, your contact information will not be used for further contact on Mono's part

 

4. What we do with the personal information we gather

The information that we collect and store relating to you and/or any services/products that are registered under your name is primarily used to enable us to provide and/or improve our services to you. We may use your information to:

  • Improve our products and services.

  • Send out email notifications and contact you by phone regarding service related issues, such as maintenance periods, billing issues, account expirations, and/or other service items that may impact our services.

  • Send promotional emails and newsletters regarding special offers, news, product updates or other information, provided you have accepted these upon signing up. You may opt out of these emails at any time.

  • From time to time, we use your information to contact you regarding market analysis.

  • We reserve the right to occasionally share this information with our partners, when this is required in order to provide specific services and/or products ordered by you - including domains, email and SSL-certificates. We will never share any personal information to other companies or individuals with the purpose of marketing without your explicit consent.

 

4a. Third Party Services

We use a number of third party service providers to help us manage products and administer email communications with mono.net subscribers, including support inquiries, newsletters and marketing emails.

Any personal information disclosed through such correspondence will be governed by these third party vendors’ privacy policy.

4a. Communicating with Mono

Should you contact mono.net by email or by submitting a support ticket via your Mono Account Center, we may hold your contact details, or any additional information you provide to us, on record for future reference and use.

 

4c. Storing your personal data

Data provided by you to mono.net is stored on our secure servers. We do not store credit card details on our servers. Any credit card details given are stored on the secure servers of our PCI-certified payment gateway partners (Teller and Quickpay).

 

4d. Testimonials

We reserve the right to make public any recommendations of Mono and/or our services made by users on our websites, our social media platforms and/or in our newsletters. However, no identifying particulars (e.g. name) will be published without the user's consent. Should you wish for your recommendation to be removed from any of our platforms, please contact Mono Support on support@mono.net, or through your Account Center.

 

5. Security

Security is taken very seriously at mono.net. All user information stored by mono.net is stored in secure databases protected via a variety of industry-standard access controls. However, no company, including mono.net, can fully eliminate security risks associated with the transmission of personal information through online transactions, and you do so at your own risk.

6. Cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Most browsers allow cookies by default. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual by recognizing preferences both user defined and location defined.

 

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies, if you so prefer. However, this may prevent you from taking full advantage of mono.net and other websites.

Cookies in no way give us access to your computer or any personal information about you other than the data which you choose to share with us.

 

6a. mono.net cookies

mono.net uses cookies to facilitate a personalized and uninterrupted connection to our services. We use cookies to store information about your settings so that you may easily log into your Mono Account Center or directly into your website without having to re-enter your username and/or password before every session. Note that if you disable cookies you may experience that some of mono.net services, features or other elements are not available or do not work, as intended.

 

6b. Third-party cookies

mono.net uses third-party logistics cookies (Google Analytics) to identify which pages are being accessed and how. This enables us to analyse data about web page traffic and, in turn, improve our website by customising it to suit user needs. We use this information for statistical analysis purposes only.

 

6.c Advertising Cookies

mono.net partners with a third-party ad network to manage advertising on our sites. Our ad network partner uses cookies and web beacons to collect non-personally identifiable information about your activities on this and other websites in order to provide you targeted advertising based on your interests. If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you targeted ads, you may change these settings in your browser. Please note that this does not opt you out of being served advertising. You will continue to see generic ads.

Mono uses cookies from Google Adwords to provide targeted ads specifically to people who have visited www.mono.net. You can opt out of targeted marketing cookies here.

 

6.d Social media cookies

mono.net includes social sharing features (e.g. the Facebook ‘like button’). These features may collect information such as which page you are visiting on our site. A cookie can also be set to enable the feature to function optimally. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on mono.net. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

 

7. links to other websites

This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected by mono.net or posted on the mono.net website. mono.net may contain links to other websites. mono.net are not responsible for the privacy practices of other web sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site, and to read the privacy statements of any web site that collects personal information.

Please note, mono.net holds no responsibility over any data or transactions, which you submit or transact through sites created and published by mono.net users or on mono.net subdomains eg. usersite.mono.net.

 

8. Controlling your personal information

8.a Updating Information

All information that mono.net stores related to your account, including your contact and billing information, is accessible through your mono.net Account Center. You can use this area to update your information at any time.  In fact, we highly encourage you to keep this information up to date so that your support requests and billing processes operate smoothly.

 

8.b Deletion of information

We at mono.net only store your information for as long as is allowed according to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Said data will be deleted once it is no longer required. The time frame for this deletion, however, is dependent on the nature of the information, as well as the basis for storing it.

Note that you will have to cancel all services with mono.net before we can delete your information from our system. You can cancel your services through your mono.net Account Center or by sending an email to support@mono.net. Please see section 3 on mono.net’s gathering of data for more information.

 

9. Disclosing and sharing your information

mono.net uses third-party service providers to perform some services on our behalf, including credit card processing, email services, data analysis and customer support functions. These service providers have access to personal information needed to perform such functions on our behalf.

 

mono.net reserves the right to share all collected information with its parent, affiliates and other related businesses.

 

mono.net reserves the right to publish or otherwise disclose users’ Mono sites through our Facebook-page or homepage in order to give inspiration to other users. This is also the case with received queries from users (eg. through the support function or via the various feedback mechanisms), either to clarify or answer a given query, or to guide and inspire other users.

 

We only release account information and/or other personal information when we believe release is in compliance with the law; complies with our Terms of Service; or protects the rights, property, or safety of mono.net, our users, or others.

 

Users will receive notice prior to the release of information to third parties, and users will have an opportunity to opt out of  sharing the information.
